Executive Director

The Mississippi Charter School Authorizer board seeks an individual who possesses a passion for and experience in K-12 public education to serve as Executive Director.

The Executive Director is appointed by, reports to, and serves at the will and pleasure of the Authorizer Board. The Executive Director will work with Authorizer Board members to implement Mississippi's charter school law, identify state and local education trends and policy priorities, and make recommendations based on research and best practices for improving the education of students in Mississippi. The Executive Director is accountable to the Authorizer Board for carrying out its mission, achieving its goals as outlined in the strategic plan, and maintaining the Authorizer Board as a quality authorizer.  The position is based in Jackson, Mississippi with occasional statewide and national travel.

Grants Coordinator

The Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board seeks a self-motivated professional with excellent problem solving and communication skills to be its Grants Coordinator. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial and reform-driven environment alongside staff members that are passionate and committed to improving educational opportunities for Mississippi's students.

The Grants Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director of the Authorizer Board. The Grants Coordinator will work with the Executive Director to execute the Authorizer Board's U.S. Department of Education Charter Schools Program grant for a period of five years. The position is based in Jackson, Mississippi with occasional statewide and national travel.
